ACM fully virtualizes database copies (clones) and saves costs. With complete virtualized database clones, the test data is identical to the production data with low space consumption, allowing the creation of as many clones as needed, for different projects or for other testing purposes.
Unlike other solutions, ACM does not work with partial data or subsets of data that generate divergences and inconsistencies in the tests.
ACM is perfectly adaptable to pre-existing software and infrastructure.
Base Image is the image of the main database (production, normally), which will be cloned. It is created and
synchronized continuously by the replication method, using Oracle Dataguard software.
There is no impact on the main database, since the synchronization occurs through the transaction logs already
applied to the main database.
Each database to be cloned must have its own base image.
The snapshot is a read-only virtual copy. The type used by ACM is known as copy-on-write.
Consider a copy-on-write system, which copies all blocks before they are replaced with new information.
This means that initially the snapshot copies only the pointer from each data block. And only when there is a
change in any block of the Base Image, the system will copy that block to a separate snapshot area before it is
overwritten with the new information.
This happens to ensure the integrity of the information in the copy. To ensure that the snapshot keeps the data
exactly as it was, when defining your coverage period.
Masking data is the process of hiding original data by modifying its content. The main reason for applying masking to a data field is to protect data classified as personally identifiable information, sensitive personal data or commercially sensitive data.
Database clones are virtualized created from the snapshots, without large space volumes provisioning, thereby, making the whole process extremely fast and economically viable as it does not require storage for each new database clone.
✓ Test databases updated with the most recent production data or by a point in time, depending on your choice.
✓ No dba skills are needed to use.
✓ Optionally, confidential data can be identified, classified and treated by Anonymization or Pseudonymization to meet regulatory requirements.
✓ RESTfull APIs available to integrate client automations.
✓ The images in the production database can be preserved as Snapshots, to support data recovery from some type of failure, such as DML and DDL alteration errors.
✓ Quality test data integrated into your agile implementation model.
✓ Simulation and prevention of problems in real time.
✓ Complete database clones for testing in minutes instead of days.
